47 <br /> Planning Commission Meeting Minutes <br /> December 17, 2002 <br /> Page 8 <br /> 1 could finalize this discussion at the next meeting after receiving comments from the police <br /> 2 chief. <br /> 3 <br /> 4 Chair Melsha asked if the secondhand goods portion should be made a part of this ordinance. <br /> 5 Mr. Smith suggested separating the secondhand goods dealers' ordinance from the <br /> 6 pawnbroker's ordinance as this was the policy of most cities. The Commission agreed with <br /> 7 this suggestion. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Mr. Smith noted he would revise the ordinance and report back to the Commission at the <br /> 10 next meeting. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 9.3 Appoint Chair/Vice Chair for 2003. <br /> 13 This item was tabled to the January meeting. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 9.4 Northwest Quadrant Redevelopment Update. <br /> 16 Chair Melsha noted there was a committee meeting on December 16, 2002. Ms. Hall <br /> 17 mentioned there would be an open house for the Northwest Quadrant Redevelopment on <br /> 18 January 16, 2002 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. She noted this open house would allow residents <br /> 19 to see the proposed site plan the development team and steering committee have been <br /> 20 discussing. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Commissioner Thomas stated he was quite pleased by the information that was presented <br /> 23 at the December meeting. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Commissioner Steeves indicated he was pleased with the proposed site plan stating this <br /> 26 style was exactly what he was looking for. He noted he was pleased with the developer <br /> 27 and the other developments they have done. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Vice Chair Stille agreed adding that the developer has a vested interest in the property, <br /> 30 which makes this even more exciting. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 X. ANNOUNCEMENTS. <br /> 33 Commissioner Tillman thanked Commissioner Thomas for his service on the Planning <br /> 34 Commission. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 Commissioner Hanson also recognized Commission Thomas for his service. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 Commissioner Steeves wished Commissioner Thomas well. <br /> 39 <br /> 40 Chair Melsha thanked Commissioner Thomas for volunteering for the Commission and for his <br /> 41 hard work and innovative thinking. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 Commissioner Hoska agreed stating he has done a great job as a Commissioner. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 Vice Chair Stille noted he enjoyed working with Commissioner Thomas. <br />
