Motion by Marks , seconded by Ranallo- to approve payment of $556 . 00 in annual membership dues to the National League of Cities. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Ranallo, seconded by Makowske to approve payment of $1 , 698. 00 in annual membership dues to the Association of Metropolitan Municipalities to which Councilmembers Ranallo and Marks will continue to serve as the Council ' s voting delegates in 1987 . Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Marks , seconded by Enrooth to approve payment of $5 ,752 . 12 to Bruce A. ' Liesch Associates as the City' s share of consulting costs incurred in December in conjunction with the establishment of expert testimony related to identification of the plume .of contamination between New Brighton and St. Anthony. Motion carried unanimously. REPORTS COUNCIL REPORTS • Mayor Reports Awards to the City Mayor Sundland displayed the plaque which had been presented to him and to Councilmember Marks when they attended the grand opening ceremonies for the Chandler Place retirement apartments in December. The inscription expressed the project owners' appreciation of the role St. Anthony-had played "in making the . Chandler Place Retirement Center dream a' reality; and in the years ahead, enabling many people to continue living an ' increasingly joyful and active life. " The Mayor then circulated the Certificate of Appreciation he and Councilmember ' Ranallo had received December 19th from the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners. The certificate acknowledged the City' s "initiative in implementing the local . recycling program and moving towards the County' s recycling goals. " Year End Greetings Exchanged Mayor Sundland concluded his report by extending his and his wife' s, Ardelle, wishes for a Happy New Year to all those present. The other Councilmembers responded in kind.
