• 1 Commission almost all said they were customers of TCF and could <br /> 2 comments: attest to the traffic and parking congestion. <br /> 3 Hansen: noted that Mr. Galush in his application letter had <br /> 4 mentioned a "tremendous increase in volume" in business <br /> 5 as the reason for expanding the drive-in facilities; <br /> 6 indicated he was. not opposed to the expansion but <br /> 7 testimony that evening and his own experience as a <br /> 8 bank customer and convinced him that traffic and park- <br /> 9 ing had become a real problem for both .the neighbors <br /> 10 and customers; <br /> 11 said he believed the neighbors' had legitimate com- <br /> 12 plaints ; <br /> 13 indicated he would like to see a traffic control and <br /> 14 flow study done to see whether curb cuts or relocation <br /> 15 of the drive-in windows would be necessary to protect <br /> 16 the residential areas to the north and east from the <br /> 17 traffic problems on 39th Avenue and on their own <br /> 18 streets which are bank generated; <br /> 19 expressed concern that without the study, the City, by <br /> 20 allowing the additional drive-in lanes rather than <br /> 021 alleviating the existing traffic problems might be <br /> 22 encouraging an increase in customers and greater con- <br /> 23 gestion on the site. <br /> 24 Madden: said he lived close to TCF but did most of his banking <br /> 25 through the mail to avoid the parking and traffic pro- <br /> 26 blems around the bank; <br /> 27 agreed with Commissioner Hansen that before the City <br /> 28 allows the expansion of the banking facilities, there <br /> 29 should be a study made of both traffic flow and con- <br /> 30 trol. <br /> 31 London: concurred that the Commission did not have enough <br /> 32 information to make a decision at this time; <br /> 33 said he knew from working on other banking facility <br /> 34 construction that all such facilities are experienc- <br /> 35 ing parking and traffic flow problems as they expand; <br /> 36 wanted to be certain that the drive-in expansion <br /> 37 would alleviate the traffic problems and not just . <br /> 38 create new ones . <br /> 39 Werenicz : said he hadn' t perceived the neighbors were actually <br /> 40 expressing opposition to the expansion per se, but had <br /> 11 <br />
