•
February 19, 1988
Mr. Dave Childs
Manager, City of St. Anthony
3301 Silver Lake Road
Minneapolis, MN 55418
Dear Mr. Childs:
Per our phone conversation of February 17 , 1988, I am writing this
letter requesting a variance for -the construction of a new
three-stall garage. The major reason for my request is the garage
is level with, or lower than, the yard; therefore causing the
rotting-out of the garage walls near the foundation. My cars have.
also been rusting much faster than normal as there is usually
water on the garage floor.
My present garage is 20' wide x 22 ' deep. The garage I would like
to put up is 34' wide x 24' deep. I would like to keep the same
starting point on the south side (approx. 3-4 feet from the. lot
line) and on the west side (1 ft. ) as is the present garage.
As I am having the garage built two feet deeper to accommodate a
boat and trailer, I would prefer not to have it any further from
the west end of my lot so that I would have enough room to turn in
from the alley and enter the garage. As a point of information,
the garages belonging to the neighbors on either side also are on
the west ends of their lots.
Attached is a sketch of the proposed garage and the Petition for
Variance. If I can be of further assistance, or if you would like
me to attend the next Planning Board meeting, please let me know.
You can reach me during the day at 574-3632 .
Sincerely,
7 Cam ,
Kevin M. Cahill
2524 Murray Avenue N:E.
Minneapolis, MN 55418
789-8617
•
