I have known Mike for eight years, • as a family friend and as a former administrator in the St. Anthony schools, and I believe he has the skills required to successfully operate a youth-oriented business in your area. Mike's charisma generates high-spirited enjoyment among his asso- ciates, and his high standards of conduct and ability to positively influ- ence others creates an ideal climate for leadership in a recreational setting. He has demonstrated this ability in his current position as an associate manager in a bar and lounge. He is comfortable with and very willing to confront inappropriate behavior, able to intervene with minimal disruption, and has earned the respect of his colleagues and local police and school officials. These skills give him great potential as a youth leader. Adolescents and older teenagers enjoy being with him because of his warmth and sense of humor, and he represents the high standards of behavior expected in your community. During. the past two years, I have been impressed with Mike's business interests and skills. He is fiscally conservative, sensitive to youth market issues, and has shown a commitment and ability to work cooperatively with the wide variety of publics who would be affected by • his proposed venture.
