APPEAL PROCESS <br /> One of the goals of the natural lawn ordinance is to protect <br /> the rights of all the citizens of . Madison. This means <br /> protecting both the naturalized landscape and citizens from <br /> the adverse effects of the neglect of property. <br /> The Urban Design Commission is made up of citizens repre- <br /> senting a wide range of civic and professional backgrounds. <br /> The most effective mode of presentation to them is one which <br /> is short and concise. It should demonstrate that you are <br /> aware of what you are doing and are conforming to all ordin- <br /> ances that cover plants and planting. In this way you can <br /> develop a convincing argument for the fact that you are not <br /> neglecting your property. <br /> Photographs showing your site and adjoining property can <br /> prove effective. Be . prepared to explain how you are propos- <br /> ing to make a transition* to your neighbor's property. The <br /> commission may ask you to modify your plan as a condition of <br /> approval .
