Acj'enda .Iteiii New Business--_L stat-US Per "l:ouncil <br /> GRANT APPLICATION - YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU <br /> • recommended motion ". . .that a grant proposal be submitted in conjunction with <br /> the City of St. Anthony and the Northwest Suburban Youth Service Bureau to the <br /> Minnesota Energy, PlanninF�, and Development Department in the ^mount of $30,861. <br /> for the 1983-84 school year." <br /> This grant would make us part of an on-going program in the :founds View and <br /> Roseville Schools. This is a 1-year grant, with the potential for 3 years of <br /> funding. <br /> Current funding in the Mounds View and Roseville districts comes from the fol- <br /> lowing sources :' <br /> city contributions - 78c per capita <br /> Ramsey County - 29c per capita <br /> state contributions- 9C per capita <br /> private donations - 4C per capita <br /> If we continued the program after the completion of the grant , we would need to <br /> allocate a total of approximately $8600. from a combination of local sources. <br /> This grant proposal will also be presented to the St. Anthony City Council at <br /> their May meeting. <br /> PROJECT GOALS <br /> I. To establish and impler.:ent the St. Anthony Youth Intervention Program. <br /> II. To establish and implement a referrals procedure with individuals, <br /> groups , and agencies currently providing services to youth and families <br /> in order to avoid _uplication of services and enhance services already <br /> available. <br /> III. To provide counseling services to a minimum of 50 young people each <br /> year of whom do not have petitionable behavior problems; less than <br /> 5% will be petitioned to juvenile court within one year of program <br /> termination. <br /> IV. To provide counseling services to 50 young people who have been <br /> referred specifically for petitionable behavior problems of whom <br /> less than 10% will be petitioned to juvenile court within one year <br /> of program term-ination. <br /> V. To provide a minimum of 800 hours of individual, group, educational, <br /> and family counseling. <br /> VI. To develop a minimum of three parent and staff education programs per year. <br /> VII. To develop- a minimum of one special project each year that responds <br /> to an emerjlq_!��..,need within the community. <br />
