'MEMORAND,UtR,. .- DATE : January 3 , 1985 .TO: David Childs , City Manager Department Heads FROM: Connie Kroeplin, Administrative Secretary SUBJECT : Staff Meeting Notes - January 2 , 1985 ------------------------------------------------------------------- The meeting opened at 9.: 40 A.M. Present were Lee Entner, Ray ,Nelson, Dave Childs , Carol Johnson, Larry Hamer, and Connie Kroeplin. Don Hickerson was absent. Ray Nelson spoke at length about the liquor operations . He noted the warehouse took in $27, 000 on New Years Eve day and the off-sale Stone- house $3 , 300 on the same day. The liquor bookkeeper will complete the sales figures within the next few days . Carol Johnson, whose desk is presently located in the front office , will attempt to arrive at a solution to the problems which arise from inter- ruptions inherent to the front office , i .e. , phones , etc. These interruptions distract her from her work and she is searching for improvements . Public Works personnel worked for three days to repair a broken water- main on Armour Terrace last week. The repair work was extensive , involving corroded gate valves and work was also hampered by a telephone cable in the exact area of the break. Paul Reiling retired December 31st and Joe Woehrle will retire the end of February. Mr. Reiling ' s position was that of City mechanic and Jim Lorbeski has taken that position. The opening created by Mr. Woehrle ' s retirement will be at the Maintenance I (Laborer) level and will be filled by Jay Hartman of 3600 Edward, who has worked part time for the City for the last several years. Chief Entner expects the new fire pumper will be ready by the end of February or the first of March. He noted bids for the old pumper will be let soon. The Fire Chief also indicated orders for fire equip- ment through the Joint Purchasing Consortium have been extended to July of 1985 . The meeting adjourned at 11 : 00 A.M. cjk •
