ST. ANTHONY CHEMICAL ABUSE INFORMATION COMMITTEE <br /> December 6, 1983 <br /> • High School Library - 7:00 A.M. <br /> Present: Jan Stroom, Jean Klosterman, Barb Malrick, Evelyn Holthus, Karen Thoresen- <br /> Quinn, George Marks, and Tom Lindskog. <br /> Minutes were read and approved. Tom Lindskog's address on list of committee members <br /> should be 3335 Skycroft Drive N.E. <br /> Treasurer's Report - $740.30 Balance. <br /> Disbursements: $12.00 - Drinks for Driving Booklets <br /> Approximately $114.00 - Literature for racks <br /> Old Business- <br /> 1. Chemical People report - written report will be included with November minutes. <br /> 2. A letter has been sent requested information and cost of purchase of Jean <br /> Kilbourne movie "Calling the Shots" - .reply has not been received. <br /> 3. Drinks for Driving Books - samples were given to City Council members and were <br /> given to City Manager Dave Child to distribute at local gathering of business <br /> persons to encourage distribution to employees. <br /> 4. De-Tox Policy report (2020 Receiving Center for Adolescents) <br /> Chaperone instructions at the High School were reviewed. The SA.C.A.I. Committee <br /> encourages the use of 2.020 Adolescent Receiving Center when appropriate. Evelyn <br /> will meet with Don Hickerson December 8 to determine. what present policies are <br /> followed by police in dealing with intoxication, boh adult and adolescent. A <br /> desired outcome would be a policy well defined and publicized on how the school <br /> and police can co-operate in dealing with intoxicated adolescents. <br /> 5. Youth Service Bureau - George Marks reported on his attendance at the Y.S.B. <br /> board meeting. He recommends that St. Anthony become a full member and methods <br /> of financing our participation be pursued. He will research possibliities. <br /> 6. Emergency cards have been printed and will be brought to Evelyn on Friday. <br /> 7. Additional brochures for racks at Community Services, the table outside the police <br /> station, the High School entry and teachers' lounges have been ordered. <br /> 8. Christian education materials for chemical use decisions has been purchased for <br /> distribution to local churches by Evelyn. <br /> 9. Liquor Store brochures - Tom Lindskog will contact new liquor store to see if <br /> (Have a Safe and Sane Party")brochures can be put in customer's bags during this <br /> holiday season. Evelyn will also distribute the brochures to school district <br /> staff. <br />
