Agenda Item: Reports-3a Status : Informational <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: February 8, 1984 <br /> TO: David Childs , City Manager <br /> Department Heads <br /> 4 FROM: Connie Kroeplin, Administrative Secretary <br /> SUBJECT: Staff Meeting Notes - February 7, 1984 <br /> ----------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> The staff meeting began at 9 : 35 A.M. Present were : Carol Johnson, <br /> Connie Kroeplin, Dave Childs , Ray Nelson, Don Hickerson, and Lee <br /> Entner. Larry Hamer was absent. <br /> k <br /> a - <br /> Ray Nelson began the meeting by indicating the roof sign on the liquor <br /> warehouse is down for repairs and will be put back in place soon. <br /> Mr. Nelson felt January had been a good month in that SAV sales totalled <br /> over $110 , 000 . Ile also mentioned SAV will hold a Valentine ' s sale <br /> this month. <br /> The Police Reserves were discussed by Chief Hickerson. He said there <br /> are now five Reserves and another person has indicated an interest. <br /> The Reserves and the Chief will be meeting February 8th to discuss <br /> • mutual aid with neighboring communities . <br /> Fire Department activities were reported by Chief Entner. Don Drusch <br /> has just completed an excellent medical symposium held in Duluth. <br /> Chief Entner and Assistant Chief Pfieffer attended a one day manage- <br /> ment seminar, which they both felt was beneficial . The State Memorial <br /> , Project, of which Chief Entner is Chairman , is progressing and the <br /> joint purchasing program is expanding. <br /> Chief Entner proposed meetings between his Department and the Police <br /> Department be periodically held to exchange ideas . Dave Childs and <br /> Chief Hickerson agreed this may result in the two Departments to <br /> work together even more effectively . <br /> Carol Johnson noted the City ' s financial books will soon be closed <br /> for 1983. <br /> Mention of the Gypsy bloth meeting , to be held at 7 :00 P.M. on Feb- <br /> ruary 14th and the Council meeting , which will begin at 8 : 30 P.M. that <br /> evening, was made by Mr. Childs . <br /> The meeting adjourned at 10 : 45 A.M. <br /> • cjk <br />
