LABOR RELATIONS SUBSCRIBER <br /> SERVICE MEMBERS - 2 - January 9 , 1984 <br /> 1 . General Membership Services (continued) <br /> of their respective memberships . The "general member- <br /> ship services" part of the agreement provides for: <br /> articles in the League of Minnesota Cities Magazine; <br /> general advice and assistance by telephone or corres- <br /> pondence ; one personal conference; advice on arbi- <br /> trator' s selection; and advice and assistance to the <br /> League of Minnesota Cities staff relating to proposed <br /> or adopted State and Federal legislation. The AMM <br /> services include meetings , telephone calls , review <br /> of proposals and counter-proposals with regard to the <br /> AMM members labor relations efforts , and general coor- <br /> dination of the metropolitan cities labor relations <br /> polls . <br /> 2 . Special Subscriber Services <br /> The second part of the agreement provides for special <br /> subscriber services . The contract language emphasizes <br /> joint bargaining. The agreement also provides that <br /> the consultant (Labor Relations Associates , Inc. ) <br /> will advise subscribers in their individual negoti- <br /> tions , mediation and/or arbitration efforts . How- <br /> ever, if Labor Relations Associates , Inc . staff is <br /> to be involved in the attendance or preparation for <br /> attendance at such individual efforts , the individual <br /> subscriber will be billed accordingly. <br /> 3 . Seminar on Labor Matters <br /> This year, a new service provided will be a seminar <br /> on a labor issue mutually agreed on by Labor Rela- <br /> tions Associates , Inc . , and the MAMA Board. The <br /> consultant will provide this seminar at his own cost, <br /> which should help to insure affordability. <br /> The ongoing administration of the agreement will be the primary <br /> responsibility of the Executive Director of the League of Minne- <br /> sota Cities . The LMC Labor Relations Subscriber Service Con- <br /> tract Committee may exercise its general jurisdiction over the <br /> agreement. <br /> If there are any questions regarding the 1984-85 agreement , please <br /> call me , and members of the Committee, Don Slater or Vern Peterson. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> James F.
