• MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: February 22 , 1988 <br /> TO: David Childs, City Manager <br /> Department Heads <br /> FROM: Connie Kroeplin <br /> ITEM: STAFF MEETING NOTES - FEBRUARY 22 , 198-8 <br /> The meeting began at__9: 10 A.M..- Those present were Carol <br /> Johnson, Dave Childs, Larry Hamer, Connie Kroeplin, Lee Entner, <br /> and Don Hickerson. Ray Nelson was absent. <br /> The upcoming goal setting retreat was the main topic of discus- <br /> sion at this meeting. <br /> The retreat will take place February 26 and 27 at the Scanticon <br /> in Plymouth. Mr. Childs described the facility and some of the <br /> extra-curricular activities available. He had distributed a <br /> packet the previous Friday which included last. year' s goals/ac- <br /> complishments, description of what the Scanitcon offered, and the <br /> telephone survey results. Mr. Childs emphasized the need for the <br /> Departments to read and study the survey report, especially the <br /> questions/answers relative to their respective departments. <br /> Representatives from the survey company will be present at the <br /> Council' s February 24th meeting to "walk through" the results of <br /> the survey with the Council. <br /> Larry Hamer <br /> 1. The owner of Mickev D' s Restaurant has not removed the tem- <br /> porary structure in front of the restaurant; a permit was <br /> never obtained for the construction of the structure; and <br /> the construction was built against the building codes. <br /> Mr. Hamer had sent a letter to the owner outlining the vio- <br /> lations and the Public Works Director asked what the next <br /> step should be. Chief Hickerson told him to make out a <br /> complaint against the owner and the Police could then issue <br /> a tag. <br /> 2. There have been two recent waterbreaks: <br /> a. Friday, February 19 on 37th Avenue N.E. <br /> b. Saturday, February 20 on Shamrock. <br /> 3 . The painting and repairs the Chief had requested in the <br /> • Police Department are almost complete; new cupboards are <br /> being built for the copy machine room. <br />
