1 MPCA Gives Authorization to the City to Erect Temporary Water Filtra- • <br /> 2 tion System <br /> 3 The Manager reported attending a meeting that morning where the <br /> 4 Minnesota Pollution Control Board had passed a resolution authorizing <br /> 5 St. Anthony to take the above response action in conjunction with the <br /> 6 Superfund Act and leaving the City with the option of recovering from <br /> 7 whichever parties are. found responsible for St. Anthony' s water <br /> 8 contamination problems. <br /> 9 Mr. Childs told Councilmember Marks he knew of no further action on <br /> 10 the part of the state once the cooperative agreement between the state <br /> 11 and the Army had been signed and the $2, 000 ,000. 00 fund had been freed <br /> 12 up for use on other projects, rather than on an ongoing substantial <br /> 13 effort to get the Army to settle once and for all. <br /> 14 UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> 15 Ordinance to Change Zoning for Evergreen Townhomes Given First Reading <br /> 16 Mr. Childs recalled the City Attorney' s memo indicating he perceived <br /> 17 the City' s position was quite secure on providing access to land <br /> 18 locked parcels in the same area and suggesting that the access become <br /> 19 a matter for discussion again when the owners seek City approval to <br /> 20 subdivide those properties for development. <br /> 21 Council Action <br /> 22 Motion by Ranallo, seconded by Marks to approve the first reading of <br /> 23 Ordinance 1988-005 . <br /> 24 ORDINANCE 1988-005 <br /> 25 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY ZONING MAP <br /> 26 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 27 ADJOURNMENT <br /> 28 Motion by Marks, seconded by Enrooth to adjourn the meeting at 9 : 30 <br /> 29 P.M. <br /> 30 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 31 Respectfully submitted, " - <br /> 32 Helen Crowe, Secretary <br /> 33 <br /> 34 ATTEST: Mayor <br /> 35 City Clerk • <br /> 12 <br />
