. o e <br /> DATE : APPROVAL ' / <br /> February 9, 1989 1 <br /> TO : <br /> Mayor and Councilmembers <br /> FROM : <br /> Larry Hamer, Public Works Director <br /> ITEM : 30 DAY EXTENSION REQUEST FOR CONSTRUCTION OF FOSS ROAD <br /> LIFT STATION <br /> NewMech Construction Company -is requesting a 30 day extension of their <br /> contract with the City for the completion of the -Foss Road Lift Station <br /> (the contract reads February 15, 1989 as the completion date). The <br /> installation of the lift station is on time, but because NewMech is <br /> having difficulty receiving the two pumps from Dakota Pump, the station <br /> will not be operable. <br /> NewMech expects to install the motors and have the new station operable <br /> by the week of February 20th. <br /> The late charge stated in the contract is $500.00 per day for every day <br /> after February 15th. The contractor has guaranteed that they will pay <br /> for any down time and needed repairs to the old station. <br /> I recommend that an extension of 30 consecutive days be approved and to <br /> waive the liquidated damage for that period. <br /> :cjk2.14.89 <br />
