The applicant is seeking approval for construction of a
parking area with gravel materials.
The request is based on required future environmental tests on the soil
of the parking area, making an asphalt or concrete construction
unreasonable. (Please see explanations provided by the applicant. )
In addition, the gravel parking lot would be temporary and would help
to alleviate the parking dilemma for the Kenzington residents.
As a point of information, a setback variance for parking was granted
to META in June, 1986. The variance granted a waiver of the 5 foot side
yard setback on the southwest side and the 10 foot front yard setback
on the southeast side of the property. This variance still is in
effect, however META has chosen to follow the proper setbacks and not
utilize the variance for the temporary parking area.
**Please see additional attached memo.
:cjk7.11.89 _
