STAFF MEETING NOTES <br /> AUGUST 1, 1989 <br /> The meeting began at 10:00 A.M. Those present were Sue <br /> VanderHeyden, Ray Nelson, Don Hickerson, Connie Kroeplin, Larry <br /> Hamer, and Lee Entner. <br /> Lee Entner <br /> 1. Five new persons have indicated their interest in becoming <br /> Fire Reserves and are in the midst of the required process. <br /> 2. The annual Steak Fry (a fund raiser for the Fire Department <br /> Relief Association) will be held September 9th. Tickets are <br /> being sold by Fire personnel. <br /> Connie Kroeplin <br /> 1 . Ms. Kroeplin has completed her first of three years of the <br /> week-long Clerk's Institute offered by the University of <br /> Minnesota: She indicated the lectures were very informative <br /> and, also, that she appreciated the opportunity to attend the <br /> Institute. <br /> • 2. The election process for this year's City election has begun - <br /> election judges are being recruited. In addition, the notice <br /> for candidacy filing will be published and posted next week; <br /> filing opens on August 29th and closes on September 12th. <br /> Don Hickerson <br /> 1. The new Police Reservist attended Mankato State University <br /> and has done an internship with the City of St. Anthony. She <br /> is formerly from the Village. <br /> 2. Police personnel have switched to full powered loads rather <br /> than . 38's for their firearm qualifying tests. <br /> Larry Hamer <br /> 1. Both the bid for the Kenzie Terrace Sidewalk Project and the <br /> bid for the liquor operations furniture and equipment will be <br /> on the Council's August 8th agenda. Mr. Hamer is getting <br /> temporary construction easements for the sidewalk project. <br /> 2. Mr. Hamer is also getting a perpetual easement for the <br /> waterline at the American Monarch Corporation. <br /> 3 . All of the Public Works personnel- are at work as of August <br /> • ist. There had been several men out with various injuries <br /> this summer. <br />
