1 Council Meeting • <br /> 2 June 4, 1991 <br /> 3 Page 2 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 Permit <br /> 6 Motion by Wagner, seconded by Fleming to grant a temporary beer and wine <br /> 7 permit to the St. Anthony Chamber of Commerce, Inc., for the VillageFest in <br /> 8 Central Park, August 2nd and 3rd, 1991 contingent on the Chamber presenting <br /> 9 proof of insurance to cover the event. <br /> 10 Voting mon the motion: <br /> it Aye: Ranallo, Fleming, Wagner <br /> 12 Nay: Marks <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Motion carried. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 VI. PRESENTATION OF CLAIMS <br /> 17 Verified Claims <br /> 18 Motion by Marks, seconded by Fleming to approve payment of all verified claims <br /> 19 listed in the June 4, 1991, Council agenda packet. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 VII. REPORTS <br /> 24 A. Council <br /> 25 Sales Tax Raise Announcement <br /> 26 Mayor Ranallo reported there would be a press conference at the Hennepin <br /> 27 County- Government Center the following afternoon at 2:00 P.M., where an <br /> 28 announcement related to the 1/2 cent sales tax raise would be made. <br /> 29 Village Gardeners to Sponsor Appreciation Night <br /> 30 Copies of the invitation to the event at Trillium Park, June 10th had been <br /> 31 distributed before the meeting. Councilmember Wagner will represent the <br /> 32 Council. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 B. City Manager <br /> 35 a. Carbon Filtration Meeting <br /> 36 Mr. Burt reported. he and Larry Hamer had found the Granular <br /> 37 Activated Carbon Filtration Users meeting that day very informative <br /> 38 and productive. He said there were people there from Hawaii, <br /> 39 Colorado, California, Florida, St. Louis Park, New Brighton and St. <br /> 40 Anthony. The purpose of the meeting was to try to coordinate more <br /> 41 buying power of carbon and to develop a more uniform bid <br /> 42 proposal. Methods of disposing of the carbon were also explored. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 b. Adoption of Resolution 91-029 <br /> 45 The Manager said passing the resolution would earn the City the • <br /> 46 10% financial incentive offered by Hennepin County for using <br /> 47 materials with recycled contents in construction, which the City <br /> 2 <br />
