3104 Townview Ave. NE
St. Anthony Village, MN 55418
April 21 , 1992
Mayor Clarence Ranallo & Council
3301 Silver Lake Road
St. Anthony Village, MN 55418
Dear Mayor and Counc H:
would like the council to consider the following items:
Single Contractor Trash Pickup
I believe that it is time that we reduce the truck traffic on the Village streets by
contracting with a single trash hauler for the entire Village. I think that this can be
handled in a way that still allows some freedom of choice to area residents. We
presently have at least 3 haulers on our short street, each using 2 trucks to pick up trash
and recyclables. Why not write a contract that allows only one hauler, specifies the
recyclable products to be picked up and has the hauler bill each homeowner directly.
That way each resident can use multiple containers, get senior discounts, or have no pick
up at all. The rates could be set for a 2 or 3 year contract with cost of landfill dumping
increases allowed in the contract. I would be available to help with drafting such a
contract if you need a volunteer.
Silver Lake Road Sidewalks -
I would like to have the Village finish the Silver Lake Road sidewalks. Several
blocks are missing on the east side of the road. There is one block of walk missing on
the east side of the road, south of 33rd Avenue. Now that homes are on this block, it is
timely to complete these walks. I use the Silver Lake walks at least twice a week and
am pleased that they are available as Silver Lake Road is too busy to use without the
walks. The land elevation between Hilldale and 33rd Is different than most of the walks
completed earlier but this should not prevent an attractive, maintainable, satisfactory
walk on that block. The walk on the east side between 29th and St. Anthony Boulevard
should also be completed. This should be easy as It is all flat land without tree
Interference. The walks from the tennis courts to 37th also would be desirable.
If I can be of help in effecting these changes, I would be happy to assist. Thanks for
considering these- items.
Since y,
(ZPuncochar
