1 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br /> 2 JULY 14 , 1992 • <br /> 3 PAGE 4 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Report of Councilmember Enrooth <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Councilmember Enrooth commented that the picnic hosted by <br /> 9 the St . Anthony Chamber of Commerce for the visitors from <br /> 10 Salo, Finland was a very nice event . It was attended by <br /> 11 all members of the City Council . <br /> 12 <br /> 13 He noted that the City was presented with many momentos <br /> 14 from Salo. Among them was a framed picture of a <br /> 15 government building which he thought was either the Salo <br /> 16 City Hall or the Parliament Building. Forty people serve <br /> 17 on the Salo City Council . <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Report of Mayor Ranallo <br /> 20 <br /> 21 Mayor Ranallo stated that Councilmember Marks has done an <br /> 22 excellent job of hosting the Salo visitors and making <br /> 23 them feel welcome. All members of the Council commended <br /> 24 Councilmember Marks for his fine work and gracious <br /> 25 hospitality. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 The Mayor met with the Jerry Faust , Chairperson of the • <br /> 28 Planning Commission, to discuss an agenda for the upcoming <br /> 29 joint meeting of the City Council and the Planning <br /> 30 Commission. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 The joint meeting with the Planning Commission is <br /> 33 scheduled for 6 : 00 p.m. on August 18th and the joint <br /> 34 meeting with the School Board is scheduled for August <br /> 35 25th at '6: 00 p.m. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 The City Manager will provide the public meeting notices <br /> 38 for each of these meetings . <br /> 39 <br /> 40 C. Purchase of Cable Television Franchise <br /> 41 <br /> 42 Mayor Ranallo stated that members of the Cable Commission <br /> 43 have been meeting with representatives of Meredith/New <br /> 44 Heritage. This firm has indicated an interest in <br /> 45 purchasing the cable franchise which serves the City from <br /> 46 Cable TV North Central . <br /> 47 <br /> 48 Tom Creighton, cable legal counsel , has reviewed all of <br /> 49 the documents for transfer of the ownership. He has <br /> 50 advised that the only action necessary by the City <br /> 51 Council is to adopt a resolution approving the transfer. <br /> 52 <br /> 53 Mr . Creighton also has advised that these documents need • <br /> 54 not be reviewed by the City Attorney of each city served <br />
