MEMORANDUM
DATE: February 6, 1996
TO: Michael Mornson, City Manager
FROM: Connie Kroeplin
ITEM: SEWER AND WATER ORDINANCE CHANGES
• There are a couple of changes needed to the sewer and water chapter of the ordinances to
bring the stated minimum quarterly charges up to date. In addition, these changes would
eliminate the need to make an ordinance amendment each time the 1,000 cubic feet charges
change. The exception would be Section 610.02, which requires Council approval for water
rate changes. After consulting with Roger, I believe the following amendments are needed:
Section 605.05 Minimum Charge. The minimum quarterly sewer charge will be $12.00,
as , c i , plus the Metro Waste surcharge.
Section 610.03 Minimum Charge, A minimum charge of$8.39 based on i
g g cn Y ee._ per
,
quarter must be paid for all premises served,.to cover_water pumpage, bookkeeping expenses,
and metering expense.
In any case, the $12.00 and $8.30 charges in the current ordinance book are not correct.
Please let me know your thoughts on this matter.
•
