Side Yard Setback Variance. <br /> 19 Chair Bergstrom opened the public hearing at 8:07 P.M. <br /> 20 Ms. Moore-Sykes reported Mike NS'iller,Administrator and owner of the St. Anthony Health Care <br /> 21 Center has filed an application for a Conditional Use Permit in order to build an addition to the St. <br /> 22 Anthony Health Care Center that will expand the size of the nursing home and assisted living <br /> 23 health care center. The proposed addition will have two floors which will add 16,000 square feet <br /> 24 for the nursing home and another 16,000 on the second floor for assisted living units. The <br /> 25 proposed conditional use is a use that is specifically listed in the City's Zoning Ordinance as <br /> .26 - permitted in this zoning district- <br /> 27 The owners recently received approval from the State of Minnesota to expand the size of the <br /> 28 facility so as to accommodate the construction of 2-bed rooms that will replace the current 4-bed <br /> 29 rooms. The approval is required before any nursing home facility can expand and it was <br /> 30 determined by the State that St. Anthony Health Care Center was most in need of expanding by <br /> 31 assigning their application first priority. The facility will not be increasing the number of beds, <br /> 32 only the number of rooms, which will provide more livable space and privacy to the residents of <br /> 33 the facility. <br /> 34 <br /> The St. Anthony Health Care Center has been operating at this site for 29 years in the same • <br /> 35 capacity. Despite the long history this facility has in the City, the Center has not been shown to <br />
