MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: November 19, 1997 <br /> TO: Michael J. Mornson, City Manager <br /> FROM: Kim Moore-Sykes, Management Assistant <br /> ITEM: Summary of 11/18 Planning Commission Meeting. <br /> 1. George Thompson is the Planning Commissioner Representative to the November <br /> 25th Council Meeting. <br /> 2. 97-09 Conditional Use-Permit -- St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. The <br /> Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of the requested conditional <br /> use permit, with the following additional conditions: <br /> a. The Church develop and enforce an on-site parking plan with the <br /> assistance of the Public Works Director and Staff. <br /> b. Receive approval from the City of Minneapolis regarding the <br /> Church's proposed storm water retention plan. <br /> There were no residents in attendance who were in opposition to the conditional <br /> use request. <br /> 3. Proposed Revision of Section 1400.16 Enforcement. The Planning Commission <br /> discussed Ron Hansen's request and decided that there was no need to revise the <br /> Ordinance. They felt it was more of an enforcement issue. <br /> 4. Proposed signage for Citgo Station, 2400 - 37th Avenue NE (formerly Stop 'N Go). <br /> Mr. Jim Sarna presented his sign plan for the new station. He is proposing to <br /> remove the pylon and install two monument signs, one at each curb cut. The <br /> Planning Commission liked this proposal and directed him to work with Staff to <br /> work out the size of the proposed signs. Mr. Sarna advised that he is not interested <br /> in 24-hour illumination,but is planning to be open for business until 12:00 a.m. <br /> 5. Commissioner Interviews. There were questions about the time and date of the <br /> interviews. Bergstrom and Franzese both stated that interviews have always been <br /> done in January and wondered about them being done in December. <br /> 6. Adjourned 8:25 p.m. <br /> • <br />
