. ST. ANTHONY CITY TO FORM PARKS COMMISSION <br /> The City Council is in the process of establishing a Parks Commission. The Parks <br /> Commission will be a volunteer advisory body, appointed by the City Council. Some of the <br /> responsibilities of the new Parks Commission will be to make recommendations to and advise <br /> the City Council and Staff regarding park issues and ideas; to establish priorities and <br /> recommend a phasing plan and schedule for implementing innovative park improvements, <br /> renovations and plans; and to review and recommend revisions to the operation and <br /> maintenance of City parks. Seven appointees will make up the first Parks Commission and the <br /> terms of the first Commissioners will be as follows: <br /> 2 members . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1 year term <br /> 3 members . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2 year terms <br /> 2 members . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 3 year terms <br /> Thereafter, Commission members will serve 3 year terms. There is no compensation for <br /> serving as a Parks Commissioner. The Public works Director will be the staff liaison to the <br /> Parks Commission. <br /> If you are interested in applying for an appointment to the Parks Commission, please send a <br /> letter of interest to Mike Mornson, City Manager, 3301 Silver Lake Road, St. Anthony, MN <br /> 55418, by June 23, 1998. The City Council will interview prospective members at a special <br /> Council Work Session on June 30, 1998. The Parks Commission appointments will be <br /> considered at the July 14 Council meeting. The first Parks Commission meeting will be on <br /> . Monday, July 20, 1998 at 7:00 PM in the Council Chambers. Each month thereafter, <br /> beginning in August, the Commission will meet the second Monday of each month at 7:00 PM. <br /> f <br />
