Planning Commission Issues 1of Aujaust 15, 2000 meeting; <br /> 5 1. Resolution 00-071, re: Sign variance request by Murphy's Service Center, Inc., <br /> 6 for 3501-29th Avenue NE. <br /> 7 Mayor Cavanaugh invited Doug Bergstrom, Chair of the Planning Commission, to <br /> 8 address the Council.- Mr. Bergstrom reviewed for the Council the public hearings held by <br /> 9 the Planning Commission at their August 15, 2000 meeting, noting the minutes from that <br /> 10 meeting are in abbreviated summary form rather than in a detailed verbatim form. He <br /> 11 reviewed their consideration of this request for a variance to replace a business sign at the <br /> 12 Murphy's Service Center gas station located at 3501 - 29th Avenue NE, and <br /> 13 recommendation for approval as the criteria for a variance consideration exist. <br /> 14 Motion by Horst to approve Resolution 00-071, a Resolution Relating to a Request for a <br /> 15 Sign Variance for 3501 - 29th'Avenue NE. <br /> �6 Mayor Cavanaugh asked if this sign will be lit with flood lights 24-hours a day. Richard <br /> 7 Graff, applicant, stated the new sign will be lit from the interior 24-hours a day as it will <br /> 18 provide a measure of security. He stated there will be no spotlights on this sign but <br /> 19 currently there is a floodlight on the driveway sign. <br /> 20 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 21 2. Resolution 00-072, re: Subdivision/plat by Village North LLP and Apache <br /> 22 Animal Medicine. <br /> 23 Mayor Cavanaugh stated his understanding that all three of the next considerations hinge <br /> 24 on the issue of parking. Mr.-Mornson suggested Mr. Bergstrom present all three cases <br /> 25 and then the issues can be-considered separately. <br /> 26 Mr. Bergstrom reviewed for the Council that the first consideration related to replatting <br /> 27 the property from two lots into three lots to expand the Animal Clinic lot, decrease the <br /> 28 Industrial Custom Products lot, and create a new lot on the other side of the Industrial <br /> 29 Custom Products lot. He presented a map to better explain the new lot configurations. . <br /> 30 Mr. Bergstrom stated Mr. Hubmer determined the utility line on the east side would <br /> 31 benefit from a dedicated City easement.and a 10 foot easement will be created for the <br /> 32 City between Lots 1 and 2. The Planning Commission recommends approval subject to <br /> 33 two conditions relating to the easements. <br />
