In addition to the improvements contained within this feasibility
report, the Harding Street storm water improvement project, which is located north of 30h Avenue just west of Silver
' Lake Road, will have a bearing on this project. There may be some concerns related to the timing of the Harding
Street storm water holding pond construction and the street reconstruction project for 2001. Below are a couple of
alternatives to address this concern:
' 1) The Harding Street project would be let as a separate contract from the 2001 storm sewer improvement
project and the contractors would be required to complete the work on the Harding Street holding pond prior
to the contractor on the street project beginning construction on 301 Avenue.
2) The Harding Street project could be incorporated into the bid documents for the 2001 street and utility
improvements and the entire project bid as one project with one contractor.
' Either of the above options are feasible for the construction of both the Harding Street storm water pond and the
completion of 2001 street and utility improvements. However, there may be some cost savings overall on the project
by using one contractor to complete both projects.
' We would be happy to discuss this report and the above issues with you at your convenience. We will be available
to answer your questions at your September 26'Council Meeting, or you may call me at(612)277-5782.
' Sincerely,
WSB& Associates,Inc.
Todd E.
