A shuffleboard area will be added, and the northeast entrance <br /> 2 of the.park will be enhanced with new pavement.and attractive landscaping: <br /> 3 Chair Jindra announced that a meeting would be held on December 11 for residents and <br /> 4 interested parties to provide input and receive additional information. The parking lot will be <br /> 5 reconstructed and there are plans for a sledding hill. <br /> 6 Chair Jindra continued by stating that another consideration for the Park is that the Commission <br /> 7 is attempting to acquire funds to supplement the financing for the project. Water Tower Park is <br /> 8 essentially finished at this point; however,the Commission is considering some changes in the <br /> 9 future for the restroom facilities. <br /> 10 Chair Jindra stated that the entire community would clearly benefit from the renovations and <br /> 11 improvements to the Park. <br /> 12 Cavanaugh thanked Chair Jindra for her input and presentation. <br /> 13 D Bob Thistle Springsted Inc. will give an overview of tax abatement properties. . <br /> 14 Mayor Cavanaugh introduced and invited Mr. Bob Thistle to approach the Council and School <br /> 15 Board. Mr. Thistle stated that he believed that there has been a need in the community for the <br /> 16 renovation of Central Park, and the current language of the tax abatement law provided a vehicle <br /> 17 for the community to use to complete the project. <br /> 18 Mr. Thistle reviewed for the Council and the School Board the abatement process. He noted that <br /> 19 if the action for abatement proceeds and goes forward, the authority will be given to move ahead <br /> 20 with financing. He congratulated both the Council and the School Board on the joint effort to <br /> 21 take advantage of the abatement process and provide the opportunity to enhance the Park. <br /> 22 Cavanaugh thanked Mr. Thistle for his presentation. <br /> 23 V. PUBLIC INPUT. <br /> 24 Mayor Cavanaugh invited input from the public and hearing none, closed the public hearing at <br /> 25 7:14 p.m. <br /> 26 Cavanaugh thanked the School Board for joining the City Council in reviewing this important <br /> 27 issue. <br /> 28 VI. ADJOURNMENT. <br /> 29 Motion by Barry Kinsey to adjourn the meeting at 7:17 p.m. <br /> 030 Motion carried unanimous ly. <br />
