wit <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: August 1, 2001 <br /> TO: Chair and HRA Commissioners <br /> FROM: Michael Mornson, Executive Director <br /> SUBJECT: DEMOLISHING OF CUSTOM LIQUIDATORS <br /> The City received two quotes for the removal and clearing of the Custom Liquidator buildings. <br /> • The low bid was $49,527.27 by Belair Demolition of New Brighton, Minnesota. Because it's <br /> under$50,000, we need to obtain quotes, but do not have to put plans and specifications together <br /> for a bidding process. <br /> Funds totaling $800,000 to pay for purchasing, demolition and removal come from the funds <br /> established in the Chandler TIF District, as identified in the Plan (total expenditures to date are <br /> $611,265). <br /> It should be noted that the fund balance of the District on 12/31/00 was $1,108,211. The funding <br /> for the project is intact and will not be affected by the recent Legislative changes to the class <br /> rates. <br /> If Council would like to proceed, I recommend adopting the following resolution to authorize the <br /> proposal to proceed with demolishing the building with funds coming out of the Chandler TIF <br /> District. <br /> • <br />
