City Council Regular Meeting Minutes 22 <br /> January 6, 2004 <br /> Page 22 <br /> 1 • Connie Kroeplin is leaving mid-year so the City Clerk position will be posted in February <br /> 2 or early March. <br /> 3 • Bids for the Fire Station are out at the end of January and the bid opening will be the end <br /> 4 of February with the Council to consider the bids on March 9, 2004. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Councilmember Horst had no report. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Councilmember Stille thanked residents for his election to the City Council and stated he will <br /> 9 bring an honest and fair approach to the Council for the next two years. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 Councilmember Thuesen had no report. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Councilmember Faust welcomed Councilmember Stille to the Council. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Mayor Hodson indicated that it does pay to work with the Metropolitan Council and have further <br /> 16 discussions. He thanked Councilmember Faust for his help with previous meetings and in <br /> 17 showing the City's commitment to the Metropolitan Council and State officials. He stated he <br /> 18 met with Congressman Sabo and thanked him.for his support of St. Anthony over the past years. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 <br /> 21 Mayor Hodson commented on the petition process the Council went through tonight and stated <br /> 22 that, for the most part, they handled themselves very well on an issue that could have been very <br /> 23 contentious. He stated he was very interested in getting the resident's feedback and expects their <br /> 24 participation in future committees. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Mayor Hodson stated that during the recess a lady asked where to get information and how to get <br /> 27 involved. He stated that is one of the items the Council needs to continue to address, <br /> 28 communication, which is also a stated goal of the Council. He stated that communication has <br /> 29 been improved and can continue to be improved. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 Mayor Hodson stated that he talked with Councilmember Faust about getting information to the <br /> 32 library but that process may have been stopped. He asked the City to assure that a depository of <br /> 33 information is available at the public library. Mayor Hodson stated the Council can discuss <br /> 34 other ways of providing information to the public like newspaper articles and press releases. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 Mayor Hodson thanked everyone and stated that a new year is in front of the Council and there <br /> 37 are many projects to start working on in the next several months. He asked the Councilmembers <br /> 38 to be prepared for each meeting. <br /> 39 <br /> 40 IX. INFORMATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS. <br /> 41 None. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 X.
