City Council Regular Meeting Minutes 10 <br /> May 11, 2004 <br /> Page 10 <br /> 1 Motion by Councilmember Thuesen, seconded by Councilmember Faust, to adopt Resolution <br /> 2 04-028 approving the Joint Powers Agreement for police services with the City of Lauderdale <br /> 3 and authorizing the Mayor and City Manager to execute said Agreement. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCILMEMBERS. <br /> 8 City Manager Morrison noted Park Commission Chair Carol Jindra presented a budget for the <br /> 9 Central Park grand opening and stated she would be calling for approval the next day. He asked <br /> 10 if the budget should be approved as long as it did not exceed the$2,500 allocated for that <br /> 11 purpose. Council agreed. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Mr. Morrison reported the following: <br /> 14 1. Update on electronic sign for City Hall. <br /> 15 a. $4,000 received from organizations. <br /> 16 b. Concept review scheduled for Tuesday, May 18, 2004, in front of Planning <br /> 17 Commission. <br /> 18 C. Public hearing would be held either in June or July. <br /> 19 d. Usage approved for recreational open-space district on property either owned by <br /> 20 City or school district. <br /> 21 e. If approved, sign should be in around Labor Day. <br /> 22 f. Usage policy provided for Council's review. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 2. Liquor store update. <br /> 25 a. Curb was in. <br /> 26 b. Coolers were in. <br /> 27 C. Interior lighting was in. <br /> 28 d. Shelving, flooring and general cleanup planned for next two weeks. <br /> 29 e. Opening planned for June 1, 2004. <br /> 30 f. Customer Appreciation Week planned for June 21 to 26, with the dedication <br /> 31 planned for June N. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 3. Public Works update. <br /> 34 a. Currently operating out of the new building, which was 95% complete. <br /> 35 b. Demolition of old Public Works building completed the previous week. <br /> 36 C. Site work underway, with plan to have parcel completed by June 1. <br /> 37 d. Dedication on June 24 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 4. Fire station update. <br /> 40 a. Walls are going up. <br /> 41 b. Scheduled completion date of October 1, 2004. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 5. Silver Lake Village update. <br /> 44 a. Final PUD for rental before the Planning Commission on June 15 and before <br /> 45 Council on June 22. No public hearing required, as they were held last fall. <br />
