.NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br /> YEAR XV (1989) URBAN HENNEPIN COUNTY <br /> COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM <br /> Notice is hereby given that the Planning Commission of the City <br /> of St. anthony in cooperation with Hennepin County, pursuant to <br /> Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as <br /> amended, is holding a public hearing on Wednesday, April 5, 1989, <br /> at 9:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 3301 Silver <br /> Lake Road (enter northeast door) . <br /> The public hearing is on the housing and community development <br /> needs of the City and Urban Hennepin County, the Urban Hennepin <br /> County Community Development Block Grant Program Statement of <br /> Objectives,- and the proposed use of the Year XV Urban Hennepin <br /> County Community Development Block Grant Program Planning <br /> Allocation of $26, 403 by the City. <br /> The Statement of Objectives consists of seven program areas, <br /> basically: (1) Administration, to maximize program benefit and <br /> effectively administer program funds; (2) Housing, to <br /> rehabilitate and assist in the development of housing which is <br /> affordable to low- and moderate-income households; (3 ) <br /> Neighborhood Revitalization, to maintain and preserve viable <br /> neighborhoods through concentrated community development <br /> activities; (4) Public Facilities, to improve existing and assist <br /> in the development of new public facilities which benefit low- <br /> and moderate-income persons; (5) Economic Development, to provide <br /> financial assistance to businesses which will provide or retain <br /> employment to the benefit of low- and moderate-income -persons; <br /> (6) Public Services, to expand and improve the quantity and <br /> quality of public services available to low- and moderate-income <br /> persons; and (7) Removal of Architectural Barriers, to remove <br /> material and architectural barriers which restrict the mobility <br /> and accessibility of elderly or handicapped persons. <br /> The City of St. Anthony is proposing to undertake the following <br /> activities with Year XV Urban Hennepin County CDBG funds starting <br /> about. July 1, 1989: <br /> Activity Budget <br /> Senior Citizens Program $ 3 ,903 <br /> Single Family Housing Rehabilitation $10,000 <br /> (low- moderate income) <br /> Recodification $12,500 <br /> • <br />
