The Day Camp would meet neighborhood needs for child care while <br /> providing a training opportunity for the Salvation Army youth. :t would <br /> function as a base fcr woodland exploration and recreation. As a outdoor <br /> classroom the teaching opportunities are ample. The barn can be easily <br /> converted to program use. Support equipment might focus on a farm or ranch <br /> theme. For example, old farm implements, buckboard, or wagon wheels might <br /> be used as play equipment. This program is expected to generate a financial <br /> return which might be used to support other camp needs. <br /> The nearby games court supports a variety of functions. Basketball, volleyball <br /> tennis, and badminton are a few possibilities. The new shelter proposed, <br /> adjacent to the court, provides equipment storage, a seating place for players <br /> between games, and a pleasant waiting spot for others in the vicinity.
