Planning Commission Meeting Minutes November 21, 2000 Page 4 1 10.2 Review Engineering Comments re: Accurate Wire Solutions Proposal to Purchase City- 2 Owned Property. 3 Bergstrom reviewed for the Commission that Accurate Wire Solutions is interested in a street va- 4 cation for Anthony Lane. In.this respect, Bergstrom directed the Commission's attention to Todd 5 Hubmer's letter of November 10,2000. Mr.Hubmer's letter stated that WSB&Associates,Inc.has 6 reviewed the current request by Accurate Wire Solution for the City to vacate a portion of Anthony 7 lane right-of-way to accommodate the proposed building expansion in St. Anthony Industrial Park. 8 Mr. Hubmer's letter noted that, should the City decide to accommodate this request, the following 9 actions are recommended: (1) the right-of-way could be vacated and a utility easement could be 10 taken over that portion of the right-of-way within-which the City's watermain is located; (2) a 1 ► driveway easement could be dedicated to ensure that the property located in St. Anthony Industrial 12 Park 2nd Addition, Block .1, Lot 2, is provided access to Anthony Lane; and (3) the'proposed 13 building should meet City standards for building setbacks from the rear property line as the City' 14 watermain runs parallel to the eastern lot line. 15 Thomas suggested that if the Planning Commission did accommodate this request, besides incor- 16 porating everything that WSB suggested, the costs should also be added in. Specifically, that the 17 costs should be borne by the company. •18 11. OTHER ITEMS. 19 11.22. Review Terms to the Planning Commission. 20 Bergstrom noted that the following Commissioner's terms will expire at the end of this year: 21 Melsha, Hatch, and Bergstrom. He noted that December 1, 2000 is the deadline for submitting 22 letters of renewal. 23 11.2 Report From the Antenna Ordinance Subcommittee. 24 Melsha reported that the subcommittee met in the earlier part of November. Melsha stated that 25 Hatch had suggested that a survey be performed and some research done with the communications 26 companies. The information obtained would be to see where those companies foresee antennas 27 being placed and the technology that would be needed. The subcommittee has discussed the 28 possibility of meeting next week to formalize the information and will be working with Staff in the 29 meantime. Stille noted that Hatch had found a pertinent article on a webpage,and the-possibility had 30 been discussed about engaging a particular firm for guidance in connection with the antenna 31 ordinance. The cost of such a service was not expected to be prohibitive. 32 Bergstrom reviewed that there is a one-year moratorium on this ordinance,and he requested that the 33 subcommittee put together a type of timeline for their research as it would be helpful to the Planning 34 Commission. 35 Melsha noted that he and the other members of the subcommittee would be coordinating the project •36 with Assistant City Manager Sue Henry. 37 12.
