DATE: April 21, 1982 <br /> • TO: Donald Hickerson, Chief of Police <br /> FROM: R. Engstrom, Investigator <br /> SUBJECT: Case Status For March, 1982 <br /> I screened fifty-five (55) new cases for March, 1982 . Sixteen <br /> (16) of those cases met the criteria for an active investiga- <br /> tion. I also carried eleven (11) cases from previous months. <br /> Five (5) of those were closed out by complaints. One (1) was <br /> closed out due to lack of sufficient evidence. <br /> Seventeen (17) suspects have been developed in those cases in- <br /> vestigated in March of 1982 . Only two (2) have been formally <br /> charged along with five ( 5) others from previous months. Both <br /> Ramsey and Hennepin Counties have cases involving ten ( 10) sus- <br /> pects to be charged and charges are pending on two (2) others <br /> as of the date of this memorandum. <br /> Residential burglary and theft from auto are the highest re- <br /> ported incidents of crime for March, 1982 . we had four ( 4) <br /> major burglary groups working in our city since January of this <br /> year. Most have been identified and our officers are aware of <br /> the suspects ' identities and vehicles. <br /> • Of those cases investigated for March, 1982 , are as follows: <br /> 2 - Aggravated Forgeries 3 - Suspects 2 - Charged <br /> 2 - Felony Theft 4 - Suspects Pending <br /> 4 - Burglary-Residence 4 - Suspects Pending <br /> 3 - Theft From Business 3 - Suspects 2 - Charged <br /> 1 - Criminal Sexual Conduct - <br /> 4th degree <br /> 1 - Incest 1 - Suspect Pending <br /> 1 - Auto Theft 2 - Suspects Pending <br /> 1 - Child Abuse 1 - Suspect Cleared <br /> by Court <br /> 1 - Possession Sm. Amt. M.J. 1 - Suspect Cited <br /> Suspect developed by Ramsey County Sheriff' s Office (Sting Operation) <br /> Total loss from thefts and burglaries $ 70, 679. 56 <br /> Total loss from vandalism 1 , 857. 00 <br /> Total receiving of stolen property 18, 516 . 99 <br /> Two (2) Search warrants were executed in March. <br /> • <br />
