The fence should be set back from property lines a minimum of 6" when not <br /> jointly owned or without permission of the abutting owner. <br /> 3. Height of a fence .should be measured from grade to prevent berming and building <br /> a fence on top of that to gain additional height. <br /> • FISCAL IMPACT: <br /> ALTERNATIVES : 1 . Pass the proposed ordinance as presented. <br /> 2. Amend the proposed ordinance as recommended by the Planning Commission , accepting <br /> some or all of their suggestions. <br /> 3. Modify the proposal with your own ideas. <br /> 4. Decide not to pass any ordinance. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Staff sees merit in the proposal for a maximum height of 4 feet <br /> in the front yard and 6 feet in the side and rear yards and the suggestion that <br /> height be measured from grade of the lot. The Public Works Director/Assistant <br /> Building Inspector prefers that the 6" setback from the property line not be <br /> included. <br /> CITY MANAGER' S REVIEW: COMMENTS : <br />
