Engstrom, Detective Captain <br /> SUBJECT: Case Status For May 1983 <br /> In May I screened forty-six (46) new cases for the month. Of those <br /> cases, twenty-six (26) cases met the criteria for an active investi- <br /> gation. I carried nineteen (19) cases from previous months into <br /> May 1983. Of those cases carried, over five (5) were suspended due <br /> to insufficient evidence. Two ( 2) were cleared by complaint. <br /> Those twenty-six (26) new cases investigated in May are as follows: <br /> 1-Death Investigation Ruled Suicide <br /> 1-Shooting Incident Accidental <br /> 1-Obstructing Legal Process <br /> With Force 1-Charged <br /> 1-Criminal Damage To Property -S-Arrested 2-Charges Pending <br /> 2-Possession Stolen Property 5-Arrested Pending Charges <br /> 2-Business Burglaries 2-Arrested Pending Charges <br /> 2-Residential Burglaries 2-Arrested Pending <br /> 4-Auto Thefts 5-Arrested in Wisconsin <br /> �1-Aggravated Robbery Unfounded 1-Charged <br /> 1-Felony Theft/Fraud 1-Suspect Pending <br /> 1-Felony Theft 2-Suspects Pending <br /> 2-Assault 4th Degree 2-Suspects 1-Charged <br /> 1-P. C. Controlled Substance 1-Arrested Reduced Charges <br /> 1-Assault lst & 3rd Degree/Robbery 4-Suspects Pending <br /> 1-H & R 1-Suspect Charged <br /> 1-Recover Stolen Property <br /> 1-Recover Stolen Vehicle 2-Suspects Not Charged <br /> 1-Sexual. Abuse (Child) 2-Suspects Unfounded <br /> 1-Assault (Child Abuse) 1-Arrested Pending <br /> Seven ( 7) residential burcjlaries , four ( 4) of those from garages , <br /> two (2 ) business burglaries , actual house break-ins have been down for <br /> the past two (2) months. <br /> officer initiated activity again was up for the month of "lay, several <br /> cases screened were cleared by officer ' s arrest or follow-up investi- <br /> gation that led to a complaint . <br /> Total loss for May 1983 , for theft related crimes including , burglary, <br /> robbery, fraud and auto theft: $23, 422 .00 <br /> Total loss from criminal damage to property (vandalism) for May 1983 : <br /> $ 355. 00 <br /> Wotal.- recovery of stolen , abandoned property and contraband for May <br /> 1983: $6 , 825. 00 <br />
