Agenda Item: Reports-4a Status : Informational MEMORANDUM DATE : June 21 , 1983 TO: David Childs , City Manager Department Heads FROM: Connie Kroeplin, Administrative Secretary SUBJECT: Staff Meetinq Notes - June 21 , 1983 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The meeting began at 10 : 15 A.M. Present were Don Dickerson, Ray Nelson, Lee Entner, Connie Kroeplin , Dave Childs , Larry Hamer , and Carol Johnson. Larry Hamer began by informing those present that Herman Weber, who was hospitalized Last week, will return to work in about two weeks . Throughout the entire meeting the Department Heads discussed various items concerning the fitness program. Most participants have completed the somewhat strenuous check up by the consultant and have received their individual exercise guidelines . Among the Department Heads , there appears to be a very enthusiastic response to this program. The Police Reserves are continuing the house checks . Chief Hickerson also said two of them will assist New Brighton during that City ' s annual Stockyard Days this weekend (June 24th) . The Reserves will also he included with the nest of the Police officers in the 40 hour Crash Injury Management course (,first aid) , which will be instructed by Officer Jeff Luther . Apache Plaza will be celebrating Ok.t.ober_fest again this year and have contacted Ray Nelson concerning operation of a beer garden during the festivities . Mr . Nelson has suggested selling beer mugs with some slogan or picture might be a sales incentive . Fie also indicated the Public Works Department is working on improvements at the Stonehouse. .Lee Entner presented several informational items - the Fire Department will receive another_ heart aid within the next couple of months ; an improved mutual aid system between Roseville and St . Anthony ; the pumper_ specs are very near completion; and there has been no response on the request for reimbursement of costs relating to the siren as yet. The Minnesota State Fire Chiefs , which Mr . Entner is an active member , has formed a committee to set up a fund for the families of deceased firefighters and establish a visual memorial at the Twin Cities International Airport, such as the Police have done for their. members . • He said they are ahead of schedule on this project .
