bf <br /> CITIZEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br /> 1980 JOBS BILL ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION <br /> URBAN HENNEPI-N COUNTY CDBG PROGRAM <br /> I <br /> MEETING SUMMARY/JUNE 14; 1983 <br /> All eight members of the CAC attended the meeting: Mark Eckes; Chairman; Ray <br /> Johnson, Vice Chairman; Elaine Ask; Vern Ausen; John Berryhill ; George Eckblad; <br /> Charles Hodge; and Gary Prazak.. <br /> Philip Eckhert; Director; Office of Planning and Development and Larry Blackstad <br /> and Robert Isaacson were Hennepin County staff representatives. <br /> Each CAC member was in receipt of a copy of all requests for funding received by <br /> the Office of Planning and Development as well as a summary listing of the <br /> requests and a request analysis form. These had been delivered to the -CAC on <br /> Friday; June 10. Prior to opening the meeting the members were provided a <br /> listing- of proposed activities by general funding category (Public Works and <br /> Facilities; Economic Development; Public Services; Rehabilitation ; Acquisition <br /> and Barrier Removal ) and a summary listing of the programs receiving additional <br /> allocations through the 1983 Jobs Bill . <br /> Chairman Eckes opened the meeting with an over view of the requests for funding. <br /> Forty-three requests were received from 23 Urban Hennepin County CDBG <br /> participants . They requested funding totaling over 7.1 million dollars. With <br /> only about one million dollars available to fund the request's ; the CAC was <br /> presented with a difficult task. <br /> Each request was subject to a series of screenings with those felt to best <br /> reflect the objectives of the program and CAC criteria and priorities <br /> remaining in contention.. This process of review and evaluation continued until <br /> consensus and approval was gained on recommending the following requests for <br /> funding: <br /> Chanhassen Job Training and Employment Program 3 35,000 <br /> Dayton Neighborhood Revitalization 86,000 <br /> Edina Fix and Paint Project 27,000 <br /> Excelsior Handicapped Accessibility/Curb Cuts 10,000 <br /> Excelsior Six Corner Intersection Traffic Control 12;000 <br /> Excelsior Studer Park Improvements 10,000 <br /> Hanover Public Employment/Training 10 2850 <br /> Hennepin County Day Care/Newly Employed (Community Services) 75,000 <br /> Maple Grove Public Employment/Training 125,000 <br /> Minnetonka Commercial Rehab Loans 100,000 <br /> Minnetrista Summer Youth Employment 8,000 <br /> Minnetrista Wood Processing 5;000 <br /> Mound Small Business Revolving Loan Program 100 9000 <br /> Richfield Fix and Paint Project 27 9000 <br /> Robbinsdale Employment Program 65,000 <br /> Rockford - Downtown Revitalization 82,000 <br /> St. k Louis Par Recycling Assistance 107,000 • <br /> Tonka --Bay. ..
