STAFF MEETING NOTES <br /> SEPTEMBER 5, 1989 <br /> The meeting began at 10: 10 A.M. Those present were Don Hickerson, <br /> Sue VanderHeyden, Larry Hamer, Connie Kroeplin, and Ray Nelson. <br /> Lee Entner is on vacation. <br /> Don Hickerson <br /> 1. One company has submitted design plans for new markings on <br /> the squad cars. The plans are computer designed, easy to <br /> replace, and the company will install them. Officers will <br /> select the most appropriate design. Funds to pay for this <br /> project were donated by the American Legion. <br /> Ray Nelson <br /> 1. Mr. Nelson just returned from a week's vacation. <br /> 2. Construction at Apache Wells is progressing. <br /> Larry Hamer <br /> • 1. A pre-construction meeting concerning construction of the <br /> Kenzie sidewalk is scheduled for September 6th. <br /> 2. Repairs are still being done on City streets. <br /> 3. Jim Brost will be gone for the next six to eight weeks due to <br /> back surgery. <br /> 4. Mr. Hamer received a letter from some residents living near <br /> Emerald with some suggestions for improving that park. <br /> Sue VanderHeyden <br /> 1. Ms. VanderHeyden has been asked to make a cost list for <br /> repairs which must be done at the Parkview building. <br /> 2. The two new Police Reserves will be introduced to the Council <br /> at their September 12th meeting. <br /> 3. A workshop regarding the 1990 City budget has been scheduled <br /> for September 11th. Ms. VanderHeyden indicated the budget <br /> could need to be reduced by approximately 5-6% if the <br /> Governor's bill is passed as introduced. <br /> 4. The first round of interviews for City Manager has been <br /> completed and the field will be narrowed to two or three. <br /> Those three will meet with the Council sometime during <br /> September. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 10:45 A.M. <br />
