Section 1010:25 <br /> antral shall be kept available for reclaiming for 24 hours after receipt <br /> of such notice of intent to reclaim. The police shall furnish upon <br /> request to any such keeper the record and list of all such licenses <br /> issued by this municipality during the current year and the last previous <br /> license period. <br /> Subd. 2. Reclaiming From Pound. At such times as necessary, the City <br /> shall employ or contract with a person, persons or other organization for <br /> the purpose of capturing and conveying to a place of impounding all <br /> animals not properly licensed, collared and tagged, and all other <br /> domesticated animals kept in violation of this Ordinance. All animals <br /> impounded shall be kept with kind treat-rent and sufficient food and water <br /> for their comfort, at least five regular business days, unless sooner <br /> reclaired by their owners, as herein provided. A dog or other <br /> domesticated animal may be reclaimed upon payment by the license holder <br /> or owner of an impounding fee of $10.00 plus an amount equal to the <br /> current impounding fee schedule of the kennel or place erployed for <br /> impounding purposes plus the cost of the food and care of the animal <br /> while impounded at the established rate which the City is required to pay <br /> plus any medical costs reasonably incurred while the animal was <br /> irpounded. If an animal which is required to be licensed is unlicensed, <br /> the regular license fee shall be paid in addition to the foregoing <br /> amounts. <br /> • Section 1010:30. Quarantine. if a dog or other aniral within the corporate <br /> lird is of this municipality bites any person, or is reported as diseased, the <br /> police shall, in the case of a-bite, and ray in all other cases, require that <br /> the animal be impounded for observation for sufficient time to determine <br /> whether it is ! seased. The animal shall not be killed or reclaimed and <br /> returned to the owner until so ordered by the police.. Any licensed dog or <br /> other animal may be reclaimed and returned to the owner without the payment of <br /> the impounding fee and cost of food and care while impounded. Any animal <br /> impounded for 'raving bitten a person or for actually being diseased, which is <br /> subsequently released by the police, may be reclaimed by its owner upon payment <br /> of the impo=nding fee, cost of food and care, and any medical costs incurred <br /> while impounded. <br /> Section 1010:35. Disposition of ?Animals. At the expiration of five full <br /> regular business days fret the time any animal is impounded, except in the case <br /> of an animal ordered held in quarantine for a longer period by the police, if <br /> the animal has not been reclaimed in accordance with Section 1010:25, <br /> Subdivision 2, the keeper of the place of impounding shall cause such animal <br /> to be .humanely killed and dispose of the remains thereof, or shall cause such <br /> dog to be sold, as abandoned and unclaimed by the owner,_ to any person, upon . <br /> payment of a sum of money not less than the license fee" and not more than the <br /> amount the owner would have to pay to reclaim the dog. Notwithstanding the <br /> five-day limitation provided herein, and if the dog has not otherwise been <br /> disposed of, the owner or the owner's irmediate family may reclaim the dog upon <br /> payment of the fees provided for in Section 1010:25, Subdivison 2. For <br /> purposes of this Section 1010:35 and Section 1010:25, "regular business day" <br /> means a day during which the establishment having custody of -an animal is open <br /> to the public not less than four consecutive hours between the hours of <br /> 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. <br />
