Evergreen Townhouse Project <br /> 7 The legal counsel for the developer of the Evergreen Townhouse project <br /> 8 has advised that a check will be coming soon for the soil contamination <br /> 9 costs associated with this development. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 Councilmember Enrooth observed that the building site is a mess. The <br /> 12 Mayor stated that construction sites always have a messy appearance <br /> 13 during the construction period. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 6. Letter to Community Regarding D.A.R.E. Program <br /> 16 The Police Chief is drafting a letter to community organizations , <br /> 17 businesses and residents soliciting contributions to the D.A.R.E . <br /> 18 Program. It is hoped that this program can be sustained entirely <br /> 19 by contributions. Mayor Ranallo observed that many residents are <br /> 20 donating private contributions. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 The Police Chief is requesting direction regarding the signers of <br /> 23 the contribution letter. He wants to know if the letter should go <br /> 24 out under his signature or under the signature of the Council as <br /> 25 well as his signature. He has no preference. The Council directed <br /> 26 the City Manager that the letter should go out under both signatures. . <br /> 27 <br /> 28 7. Tree Replacement <br /> 29 The City Manager advised there is approximately $4,000 in the Tree <br /> 30 Replacement Fund which will cover the costs of the diseased trees <br /> 31 which were removed or any trees removed from City property. There <br /> 32 were twenty-seven trees damaged by the storm which must be replaced . <br /> 34 Tom Burt noted that the sealcoating project is nearly completed and <br /> 35 the crews are about a month behind. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 Hockey boards and hockey rinks will be coming before the Council <br /> 38 for consideration again in the near future. He noted that Silver <br /> 39 Point Park will not be used by the Hockey Boosters this year and <br /> !40 fie has received one request from a coach that the rink not be put <br /> 41 in at that location again. <br /> A2 <br /> 43 The City Manager advised that the Association of Metropolitan <br /> J+4 Municipalities will be holding a meeting on August 31st to address <br /> 4; by-law amendments and increasing the annual dues. The dues increase <br /> 46 is to add one staff person to the organization. Presently, there <br /> 47 are three persons on the staff. <br /> 48 <br /> 49 Mayor Ranallo felt the Council should support this dues increase as <br /> 50 the focus of the AMM will be more on the metro area communities. <br />
