City Office Hours - Christmas Eve <br /> 2 The City Manager advised the Council that the City offices will close <br /> at 1 :00 p.m. on Christmas Eve. He also noted that on previous Christmas <br /> Eves, the Public Works Department had traditionally held a party. Since <br /> 5 the City Manager's policy is not to -allow alcoholic beverages on City <br /> property, the party will not be held this year but many of the Public <br /> 7 <br /> Works Department's personnel are taking the day off. <br /> s� <br /> 9 F. Contract with School District <br /> 10 Dave Shapely, Finance Director of School District ##282, contacted the City <br /> 11 Manager regarding a portion of the purchase agreement the City has with <br /> 12 the School District for Parkview Community Center. In the purchase agre- <br /> 13 ement the City Council agreed to construct a thirty parking space parking <br /> 14 lot on the west side of the High School or to pay. $18,000 in lieu of this <br /> 5 construction. Shapely advised the City Manager the School Board is meeting <br /> 15 tonight and if it determines that the $18,000 is its preference, it would <br /> 17 be due in seven days. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Motion by Ranallo, second by Marks to release a check in the amount of <br /> 20 $18,000 to School District #{282. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Mayor Ranallo inquired if these costs could come from HRA funds. The City <br /> 23 Manager will check this with the City Attorney. <br /> • 24 Motion carried unanimously <br /> 25 <br /> 26 <br /> �7 Mayor Ranallo advised he has been invited to the Governor's Inaugural <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Ball . The invitation refers to a $100.00 donation. The Mayor indicated <br /> 30 he will probably not be attending as did other members of the Council . <br /> 31 <br /> 32 Councilmember Makowse thanked the Council and stated she would never have <br /> considered seeking another governmental position without all of the positive <br /> 33 33 <br /> experiences she has had as a Councilmember. All of the Councilmembers <br /> 5 expressed their pleasure with having served with her and wished her well <br /> 3 <br /> 35 in her new position as Hennepin County Commissioner. <br /> 37 11 .
