1 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br /> • 2 SEPTEMBER 10 , 1992 <br /> 3 PAGE 9 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Councilmember Wagner reported he , attended the recent <br /> 7 board meeting of the Apache Merchants Association. He <br /> 8 noted there is renewed interest among the merchants for <br /> 9 upcoming events planned for the shopping center. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 The marketing manager of the shopping center, Dennis <br /> 12 Cavanaugh, stated he is talking with representatives of <br /> 13 the Cub Stores regarding locating in the shopping center . <br /> 14 He also committed to placing a leasing agent in the <br /> 15 center . <br /> 16 <br /> 17 Mayor Ranallo advised that there will be thirty-two <br /> 18 portraits on display at Apache Shopping Center of <br /> 19 Christopher Columbus for the Italian celebration in <br /> 20 October. Presently, the display is at the University of <br /> 21 Minnesota in Minneapolis . The opening ceremony and <br /> 22 entertainment for the Columbus celebration is scheduled <br /> 23 for October 6th. The portraits will be on display from <br /> 24 October 6th through October 27th. On October 27th the <br /> 25 Shopping Center will host the world' s largest spaghetti <br /> 26 dinner from noon to 5: 00 p.m. . There will be merchandise <br /> 27 booths and there have been 2 , 500 tickets ordered for the <br /> 0-8 dinner. At its September 10th meeting the Chamber of <br /> 9 Commerce indicated it intends to have a booth at the <br /> 30 celebration. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 6 . Report of Councilmember Flemina <br /> 33 Councilmember Fleming attended a gun seminar where <br /> 34 practice shooting was done. She stated she learned a lot . <br /> 35 <br /> 36 7 . Report of Councilmember Enrooth <br /> 37 Councilmember Enrooth stated that grant money is <br /> 38 available through October 30th for a study of lake <br /> 39 conditions at Silver Lake. He had indicated previously it <br /> 40 was intended to apply for this grant . <br /> 41 <br /> 42 He reminded members of the Clean-Up Day in St . Anthony. <br /> 43 Many inquiries have been received regarding this event . <br /> 44 <br /> 45 8 . Report of Mayor Ranallo <br /> 46 The Chamber of Commerce will host a Candidates ' Forum on <br /> 47 October 15th at Noon at its meeting. The candidates are <br /> 48 to include those who have filed for the seat of Mayor and <br /> 49 for Councilmember positions . <br /> 50 <br /> 51 Mayor Ranallo told the Council of an incident involving <br /> 52 a small child which took place on Labor Day around 8 : 15 <br /> �53 a.m. . The Police and Fire personnel from St . Anthony <br /> 54 answered the call . He noted that the personnel responded <br /> r <br />
