They do <br /> 9 not have female members at this time. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 The Mayor congratulated Councilmember Enrooth on his <br /> 12 appointment to the Hennepin County Solid Waste Management <br /> 13 Committee. He was appointed by Commissioner Peter <br /> 14 McLaughlin. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 -The "Leap Into Spring" dinner dance, sponsored by the St . <br /> 17 Anthony Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for Saturday, <br /> 18 February 29th. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 The Mayor noted that this event will be held at Apache <br /> 21 Plaza and is similar to the "Ball " previously held. The <br /> 22 tickets are $10 . 00 . <br /> 23 <br /> 24 B. Report of the City Manager <br /> 25 <br /> 26 The City Manager acknowledged the presence of <br /> •27 Representative McGuire. She stated she had intended to be <br /> 28 in attendance for the Town Meeting, but was tardy and <br /> 29 missed the discussion. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 Representative McGuire requested a report of the <br /> 32 proceedings of the Town Meeting. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 1 . Storm Sewer and Road Improvements - Old Highway 8 <br /> 35 <br /> 36 The City Manager advised that the timing of the storm <br /> 37 sewer and road improvement project for Old Highway 8 has <br /> 38 a very aggressive plan for completion. <br /> 39 <br /> 40 This project is being done in cooperation with the City <br /> 41 of Roseville. . <br /> 42 <br /> 43 The plan is to divert water from Rankin Road by directing <br /> 44 water north on Highway 8 to a retention area. The City <br /> 45 crews will be installing the underground piping necessary <br /> 46 for the project . This diversion may also help alleviate <br /> 47 some of the water problems which were discussed at the <br /> 48 Town Meeting. <br /> 49 <br /> 50 All of the project will be paid for from State Aid funds <br /> 51 and some of the work may begin before the City Council <br /> •52 gives its approval . The City Manager will keep members of <br /> 53 the Council informed as to the progress of the project on <br /> 54 a timely basis . <br />
