Burt, City Manager <br /> FROM: David Mark Urbia, Management Assistant <br /> ITEM: PROPOSED SIGN ORDINANCE UPDATE <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The first draft of the proposed sign ordinance was presented to the Planning Commission <br /> in April. The Commission established a subcommittee consisting of Councilmember <br /> Wagner, Chairperson Faust, Commissioner Franzese, and Management Assistant Urbia. <br /> The Committee met once in May for nearly four hours. I have made changes from the input <br /> given by the subcommittee. That draft was to be reviewed by the Planning Commission in <br /> June. The Commission delayed review of the issue until July. The same draft will be <br /> presented to the Planning Commission for review in July. I have included information from <br /> the City Attorney, the business community, and other municipalities. <br /> NEXT STEP <br /> The Planning Commission should discuss the proposed sign ordinance, provide input, and <br /> forward to the City Council at the July meeting. <br />
