1 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING • <br /> 2 JULY 27 , 1993 <br /> 3 PAGE 6 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 The City Manager advised the -assessment would probably be <br /> 7 between $4 , 000 and $5, 000 . <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Vice President Gore visited the some small businesses in <br /> 10 the office complex where Councilmember Marks is employed. <br /> 11 He had an opportunity to welcome the Vice President . <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Councilmember Marks will be vacationing the first two <br /> 14 weeks in August and wi 11 be absent from the f irst counci 1 <br /> 15 meeting of the month. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 General Discussion on Village Fest - 1993 <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Councilmember Enrooth stated that from the Village Fest <br /> 20 Board.-of .Directors ' perspective, the annual event came <br /> 21 off very well this year. The wrap-up meeting is scheduled <br /> 22 for September . <br /> 23 <br /> 24 Councilmember Wagner gave a report on the gross receipts <br /> 25 received to date for Village Fest . His wife, Audrey, is <br /> 26 the Village Fest Committee Treasurer . <br /> 27 •28 Gross receipts were given with comparisons to those for <br /> 29 1992 . Councilmember Wagner advised that the Silent <br /> 30 Auction grossed nearly three times the money that was <br /> 31 realized in 1992 . <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Attendance at the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast was up about <br /> 34 200 compared with 1992 . He felt some of this increase may <br /> 35 have been due to the advertising done during the parade . <br /> 36 The Mayor suggested there should be some space _allocated <br /> 37 for children to play. Their activity on the stage was <br /> 38 disruptive. <br /> 39 <br /> 40 Councilmember Enrooth observed that only about ten <br /> 41 percent of St . Anthony ' s residents support and attend <br /> 42 Village Fest activities . <br /> 43 <br /> 44 Councilmember Marks suggested that Village Fest <br /> 45 announcements could be made by using the fire truck <br /> 46 driving through neighborhoods . <br /> 47 <br /> 48 Councilmember Fleming received only one negative comment <br /> 49 regarding the parade. Many folks would have liked to see <br /> 50 more bands . <br /> • <br />
