Mr. Mander felt he <br /> 8 has been misled by the contractor. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 Virgil Hawkins, representing Maier Stewart Engineering, stated <br /> 11 that the original intention was to restore Croft Drive to its <br /> 12 original grades but he noted that this street had a steep <br /> 13 grade originally. The street now is designed for proper <br /> 14 - drainage. <br /> 15 ' <br /> 16 Mayor Ranallo recalled that a Maier Stewart representative had <br /> 17 stated at the public hearing the driveways in this project <br /> 18 area would remain the same after the project is completed as <br /> 19 they were originally. He requested Mr. Mander' s driveway be <br /> 20 _ returned to its original grade. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Mr. Hawkins. advised that the -grade of Mr. Mander' s driveway <br /> 23 was steep and it would be impossible to replace all of the <br /> 24 driveways back to the way they were. <br /> 25 <br /> Bob Stroncek, 3416 31st Avenue, felt there has been a lack of <br /> communication between the property owners and the construction <br /> 28 company. The Mayor felt there has also been a lack of <br /> 29 " listening. " <br /> 30 <br /> 31 The City Manager suggested that each property owner. be <br /> 32, contacted regarding his/her concerns of the project . He also <br /> 33 recommended that each driveway be reshot . It was noted that <br /> 34 some people may have not spoken up during the construction <br /> 35 regarding any concerns they may have. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 Earl Shamp, 3509 31st Avenue, agreed there was poor <br /> 38 "'communication but felt his personal experience with the <br /> 39 contractor was, positive. He noted that some property has <br /> 40 considerable mistakes made on them. Mr. Shamp '- felt the <br /> 41 "_ property owners should have been apprised if there were going <br /> 42 to be any changes on their property. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 Joe Sevick, 35,05 31st Avenue, also recalled that at the public <br /> 45 hearing it was stated by the engineer there would be no <br /> 46 changes. He felt for future projects the plans should be <br /> 47 explained more. precisely. He has a sharp drop-off on his front <br /> 48 yard which resulted from this project and this needs <br /> 49 resolving. <br /> 50 <br /> • <br />
