The purpose of this initiative is develop a greater understanding of the role of the U.S. Army Reserve in your community and to solicit your advice in-community projects of mutual benefit to you and the Army Reserve. • I would like to invite you or your official representative to participate on the Fort Snelling Community Support Advisory Council. The Council will consist of the mayors of each community within the seven county metropolitan area. The Fort Snelling Community Support Advisory Council will meet quarterly with the Commanders of Reserve units located at Fort Snelling to discuss issues of mutual interest and identify local community support projects. It is my intention that this effort will build a stronger understanding of the valuable contributions our members provide--not only to our country, but to the community where they live, work and train. As I indicated, this is a new community outreach effort that I am implementing throughout Minnesota and intend to extend this program to the other five states within the new 88th Regional Support Command.
