• STAFF REPORT
DATE: December 12, 1996
TO: H.R.A. Chair and Commissioners
FROM: Michael Mornson, Executive Director
ITEM: CLEANING BIDS FOR THE CITY OFFICES AND
COMMONS AREA
The City received bids from three bidders for cleaning services for the City Hall
and commons area as follows:
Compton's Commercial $47,848.32
CoverAll Cleaning $64,921.20
Ilona's Janitorial $83,589.48
The low bidder is Compton's Commercial at $47,848.32. This cost includes
cleaning the area six mights a week, as well as washing the windows two times
per year. The contract is for one year, January 13, 1997 to January 13, 1998.
On nights the building is closed on holidays, the City will receive a credit of
approximately $144.00 per night. We are anticipating a credit for 1997 of
about $1,700.
The references for this company were excellent. We also were impressed with
an interview we did with them on December 2nd. As in the past, a Public
Works employee will be around during the day time hours in some capacity to
provide cleaning services as needed.
The company also bid on the Community Services portion of the building.
However, due to the cost, the School declined and will hire their own janitorial
services.
RECOMMENDATION
Recommend Council approval of Compton's Commercial to perform janitorial
services in the City Hall/Community Center beginning January 13, 1997 to
January 13, 1998 at a cost of$47,848.32.
•
