CITY OF ST. ANTHONY ORDINANCE 1997-006 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO SIGNS; AMENDING CHAPTER 14 OF THE 1993 ST. ANTHONY CODE OF ORDINANCES, BY ADDING SUBD.,36 TO SECTION 1400.04; AND, BY AMENDING SECTION 1400.09, SUBD. 5 The City Council of the City of St. Anthony hereby ordains: Section 1. Chapter 14, Section 1400.04 of the City Code is amended to add the following: 1400.04 Definitions. For the purposes of this Chapter, the following terms have the meanings given them in this Section: Subd. 36 Professional Building. Any multi-story building of 50,000 square feet or more occupied by professional service oriented businesses, such as legal, clinical or health care related retail or service establishments with parking provided on the tract of land for use in common by patrons and occupants. Section 2. Chapter 14, Section 1400.09, Subd. 5 of the City Code is amended as follows: 1400.09 Signs Requiring Permits. Subd. 5. Shopping Centers/Strip Mall/Professional Building_Comprehensive Sign Plan. A comprehensive plan must be provided for the whole of a shopping centers strip mall, or professional building development. This plan includes the location, size, height, color, lighting and orientation of all signs, and must be submitted for preliminary plan approval. When a comprehensive plan is presented, exceptions to the regulations of this Chapter may be permitted if the sign areas and densities for the plan as a whole are in conformity with the intent of this Chapter and if such exception results in an improved relationship between the various parts of the plan as determined by the Council. Comprehensive Sign Plans will be reviewed by the City Planning Commission which will forward a recommendation to the Council on the appropriateness of the proposed plan. Section 3. This ordinance will be in effect as of the date of its publication.
