The base
bid plus alternative is excavating the material from Silver Point Park and storing that material
in a stockpile location within Central Park. The cost for the base bid and base bid plus alternate
is$1,231,000 and$1,047,000 respectively. The difference in cost estimates between the base
bid and the base bid plus alternate is approximately$184,000. However, the City may incur,
additional costs to the base bid plus alternate, which may include the following: .
• $150,000 to completely reconstruct the parking lot located north ot6ity hall. The
bid did include a partial repair.to this parking lot, however, upon field
observation of the parldng lot a complete'reconstmetion should be considered'if
any improvements are to be-made.
• $1109000- $140,000 to grade this material into Central Park.
• The concurrent loss of park space at both Silver Point Park and Central Park.
Incorporating the above costs into the base bid plus alternate brings the total cost of this option'
to approximately$1,320,000,which exceeds the cost ofthe base.bid. In addition, there remains
the opportunity to import fill material into Central Park in conjunction with the construction of
the second stormwater storage area within the City.
Infrastructure Engineers Planners
• F.•iWPW/MIOQJ.d000099e• r.nvvd.wnd
